UHPLC, ATR-FTIR Profiling and Determination of 15 LOX, ?-Glucosidase, Ages Inhibition and Antibacterial Properties of Citrus Peel Extracts

Diabetes mellitus (DM) has a worldwide prevalence with very alarming situation in low-income and developing countries including Pakistan. During this project, we investigated peels of two commonly used Citrus species, i.e., C. sinensis hybrid (C. nobilis delicense) for their antioxidant, antidiabetic, antiglycation, antimicrobial anti-inflammatory activities. Initially the were dried extracted various solvents. Then, HPLC ATR-FTIR analysis was performed finally extracts fractions analyzed biological properties. The data showed presence phenolics flavonoids. In peels, high concentration (87.3 ± 0.11 mg/g GAE) observed ethyl acetate part followed by methanolic fraction (72.5 0.12 mg/gGAE). Both exhibited strong antioxidant activity, anti-biofilm Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) assay, total extract moderate (IC50 = 1.23 mg/mL) activity. All tested active respect ?-glucosidase inhibition, whereas 15-lox only n-hexane presented excellent activity (90%). On other hand, case Citrus, inhibition found 0.25 mg/mL). Among fractions, highest noticed crude 0.10 0.23 mg/ml) plant =0.36 observed.
